New projects in the pipeline are a multimedia experience I am putting together in conjunction with my brother who is a music composer. A blend of video, audio, stills and written word…. Experiments in HDR

I shot this series with Felicia in my kitchen. The back drop is a painted canvas.
I placed a studio strobe low to the floor behind the model, then applied a blue gel to the reflector.

Next I set off a smoke machine to give some blur and atmosphere to the set.
Her face and body were lit with a fill flash through a large Bowens box diffuser.

I really liked the result but thought it would look even better with a little photoshop magic to create an HDR effect using a Topaz Labs plugin, then removing some of the grain with Neat Image.

Lock, Stock & 2x ….

Some people make life worth living.  It is no secret that I have been going through a low these last few weeks… Health problems, Website problems, model problems…. But C-J & Kate came to visit at the weekend and made me feel so good about my work again…

Couple of hours shoot in the Nags Head – A few beers with Karl, then meet up at the Hobgoblin to put the world right over a pint or two of  Rev James beer! — Gary from First Studios joined us for a brilliant night of fun, chat and soul searching…

Holly D & Havana Sin| test shoot for Playboy

I couldn’t believe my luck when Holly D asked me if I wanted to come and do the stills for a shoot with her and Havana Sin for Dangerous Dolls Website.

The set was being videoed by Playboy TV — hope I’m not in any of the BTS footage! lol

Sombre Sunday | Shoot today

As Soon as I saw Sombre Sunday appear on Myspace I knew I had to work with her… She has that something extra… that little piece of mystique that I love in a model I work with..

Had a great 2 or 3 hours with her today, hope you enjoy the photos…

Model Faye | my first muse gallery

Faye – omg… What can I say about her? – Possibly the most natural undiscovered beautiful girl on this planet. The saddest day of my life was when she told me that she no longer wanted to do modelling

All I can say is that I feel honored and privileged to have worked with her about 6 times in a period of around 6 months during 2007 / 2008… Love you Faye! xx

“I was inexperienced and just starting out when I first shot with Mark. I was so nervous, but right from the start he was brilliant at relaxing me and giving me guidance, which is what you need at first. We got so many good shots that day and working with Mark became a regular occurance for me. He used to say I was his little muse! Mark is a very talented photographer and definitely has his own style and range. We did loads of themes, from really gothicy, blood weeping warrior princesses through to soft artistic nudes. I love all my piccies from working with him but I must admit to having a few all time faves, these include – ‘Au Naturel’, ‘bloody weep’, ’shibari by candlelight’, ‘medusa’, ‘rage against society,’(or warrior princess), ’snake charmer’ (belly dance pic), ‘pink ribbons’ and ‘bloody weep’ which won an ultra vixens issue back in april 2008. So…just a few…
Mark gave me the confidence and experience to continue modelling and go much further with it.”
