The great debate – is it ok to photoshop images?
“for my part, whether I am viewing an idyllic landscape or a motorway collision, I tend to overlook the actual charcteristics of the scene and look instead for form and texture which are the essence of a dramatic new image. The camera may thus become a filter between it’s operator and reality.“
Bob Carlos Clarke – circa 1976

I shot this series with Felicia in my kitchen. The back drop is a painted canvas.
I placed a studio strobe low to the floor behind the model, then applied a blue gel to the reflector.
Next I set off a smoke machine to give some blur and atmosphere to the set.
Her face and body were lit with a fill flash through a large Bowens box diffuser.
I really liked the result but thought it would look even better with a little photoshop magic to create an HDR effect using a Topaz Labs plugin, then removing some of the grain with Neat Image.

Some people make life worth living. It is no secret that I have been going through a low these last few weeks… Health problems, Website problems, model problems…. But C-J & Kate came to visit at the weekend and made me feel so good about my work again…
Couple of hours shoot in the Nags Head – A few beers with Karl, then meet up at the Hobgoblin to put the world right over a pint or two of Rev James beer! — Gary from First Studios joined us for a brilliant night of fun, chat and soul searching…

Is it jealousy? -I really don’t know…
But you try to help some people and all they do is shit on you…
As long as I have the energy to click the shutter button I will continue to take provocative, thought provoking, sensual or in your face shots
…sorry, I am really NOT in a good mood tonight! – ps it’s nothing to do with the awesome model in the photo below

This is an extract from an email I received today from Sahrona — What a beautiful woman!
Hi Mark! I can’t wait to be back home to put on the cd with the photos.
While we have dinner I put some good music on and the photosets running…it is amazing the work you’ve done!
Don’t misunderstood me…I know your great art but seeing myself in it it’s still unbelievable, you really take out a side of me I don’t even know to have!(like in the boy/girl or in the bounded one)
You make me feel really comfortable and I really appreciate your conception of the details(as when you put my hair or the various objects on my body).
What else to say,I told you 3 years ago I was saving your pictures on my pc and now I’m part of it!
Anyway thank you again for everything, for your professionality and your friendship after that the shoots were done,it was great having a drink and a relax talk together!

I love it when Faye comes to visit

Had an amazing shoot yesterday with my first muse – Faye.
It’s been over a year since the last time I worked with her. All these shots were taken in my kitchen or bathroom.
